EQOM Group is an internationally operating, private-equity-backed e-commerce and consumer goods organisation with approximately €155 million in revenue and around 430 employees. The group operates across both B2C (approximately two-thirds of revenue; highly transactional and volume-driven) and B2B (approximately one-third of revenue; larger deals and relationship-driven), with activities in several European countries, including the Netherlands and Norway.
Since Waterland’s investment, EQOM has been in the midst of its value creation cycle. In recent years, the organisation has invested heavily in professionalisation, including replacing its ERP landscape and building a scalable back-end. The next phase focuses on further commercial optimisation, profitable growth and increasing EBITDA, driven by private-label development, supply chain optimisation, improvements to the distribution model and data-driven decision-making.
The culture is entrepreneurial, direct and performance-oriented, with significant room for initiative and ownership. Teams are young, driven and data-minded, with a strong ambition to collectively build a better and more scalable business. With a relatively young organisation and a newly appointed leadership team, EQOM is entering an important transformation phase in which initiative, ownership and commercial sharpness are key.
The role is positioned within the Dutch team, with Veendam as the primary location.
The Head of Business Control is a key position within EQOM and acts as the CFO’s right hand. This is a distinctly hands-on role, combining strong execution capabilities with leadership.
The Head of Business Control holds overall responsibility for Business Control across the group, with direct operational responsibility for the Netherlands and Norway, and leads a team of three controllers (two junior/medior and one senior vacancy).
This role requires someone who actively contributes hands-on, conducts analyses, translates commercial insights into action, and simultaneously develops the team.
This position offers a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on commercial decision-making within an international e-commerce environment. You will work closely with the CFO and CEO, stay close to the business, and play a visible role in EQOM’s next growth phase. For candidates with ambition towards broader finance leadership, this role offers clear development opportunities within a private-equity context.
The ideal candidate is a commercially minded, data-savvy finance professional with an affinity for private equity, who gains energy from building, improving and taking ownership. Someone who does not stop at signalling issues, but actively drives execution.
You thrive in a non-hierarchical, entrepreneurial environment without heavy layers, combining analytical sharpness with pragmatic delivery.
