CEO

About the Company

De Prefabriek is an innovative and fast-growing prefab construction company focused on the development, production, and delivery of high-quality home extensions for the private residential market. With a strong operational foundation and approximately 60 employees across production, installation, sales, and support functions, the company currently delivers around eight extensions per week.

Since 2023, De Prefabriek has partnered with Ardent Equity, a pragmatic and entrepreneurial Dutch private equity firm. This partnership enables further professionalization and accelerated growth, with clear ambitions to expand production capacity and pursue geographic expansion into Brabant, Eastern and Northern Netherlands.

The culture at De Prefabriek is down-to-earth, committed, and practical. Management is closely involved in the day-to-day business and leads by example, by being hands-on, taking responsibility, and actively participating in the organization.

Role and Responsibilities

The CEO plays a key role in the next growth phase of De Prefabriek and holds ultimate responsibility for both strategic direction and day-to-day operations. This is a distinctly hands-on role, in which the CEO is visible on the shop floor, steps in where needed, and simultaneously provides direction for further commercial and organizational growth.

The CEO works closely with Thijs (the Founder), who is deeply involved in operations and has extensive domain knowledge. There will be an intensive onboarding period working together in the operation, followed by room to shape the role independently and initiate strategic initiatives.

In addition, the CEO acts as a key sparring partner for Ardent Equity and other stakeholders, with clear responsibility for value creation and long-term growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leadership & culture: Leading by example through visibility, approachability, and engagement; building trust and a strong culture within a young team.

• Commercial growth: Leading and strengthening sales and (digital) marketing with a strong B2C focus; initiating new commercial propositions and growth opportunities.

• Operational management: Optimizing and structuring processes across production, installation, and support functions to ensure scalability.

• Strategy & stakeholder management: Developing and executing growth strategies, reporting to shareholders, and conducting strategic discussions with external partners.

• Entrepreneurship: Identifying and capitalizing on opportunities such as regional expansion, new marketing initiatives, or (in the longer term) international growth.

• Hands-on leadership: Willingness to step in on the shop floor, in the factory, or in improvement projects when required.

Profile

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, people-oriented leader who can think strategically while also operating comfortably at an operational level. They have experience scaling organizations and thrive in an environment where mindset, responsibility, and engagement matter more than hierarchy or title.

Experience in construction or the prefab industry is not required; intelligence, learning ability, and a practical mindset are more important. The candidate can connect sales, marketing, and operations, and can bring both the team and shareholders along in decisions and plans.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a natural, approachable leader with experience managing teams through growth phases.

• Is strong in sales and marketing, with affinity for digital channels and B2C-driven propositions.

• Has end-responsibility experience within an SME production organization.

• Is entrepreneurial, pragmatic, and self-directed; someone who identifies opportunities and executes on them.

• Has strong operational insight and can introduce structure in a fast-growing organization.

• Is not overly corporate and feels comfortable in a hands-on, no-nonsense culture.

• Has well-developed EQ and knows how to motivate a young team (average age <30).

Core Competencies

• Drive and ownership; building the company with a long-term perspective.

• People-centered leadership; earning trust through involvement and leading by example.

• Commercial and strategic insight; driving growth through sales, marketing, and new markets.

• Hands-on mentality; willingness to actively contribute and take responsibility.

• Analytical ability; substantiating improvement initiatives and strategic choices for stakeholders.

Practical Information

• Team size: Approx. 60 FTE (production, installation, sales, procurement, engineering, aftersales, and finance).

• Financial profile: Approx. €20 million in revenue.

• Growth ambition: Scaling production capacity and regional expansion.

• Commitment: Long-term involvement (±10 years), as an entrepreneur and partner to shareholders.
