Role and Responsibilities
The Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in the next phase of growth and is fully responsible for the finance function. The role combines strategic responsibility with a distinctly hands-on approach.
As a member of the Management Team, the Finance Manager reports to the CEO and acts as a key sparring partner to the private equity shareholder, Supervisory Board, and banking partners. The core objective is to build a data-driven, scalable, and predictable finance organization that actively enables growth.
The position offers a clear growth path toward a CFO / Executive Board role as the company continues to scale organically and through acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finance leadership & MT role: Full responsibility for finance and active contribution to strategic decision-making;
- Monthly close & reporting: Ensure a tight, predictable monthly close and high-quality management and shareholder reporting;
- KPIs & performance: Analyze financial and operational KPIs and translate insights into actionable steering information;
- Cash & liquidity: Own free cash flow reporting and liquidity forecasting (“cash is king”);
- Budget & forecast: Prepare annual budgets and maintain rolling forecasts that truly support decision-making;
- Buy-&-build & integration: Lead financial integration, consolidation, and reporting of newly acquired entities;
- Processes & automation: Identify and implement automation and process improvements within finance, including data and AI-driven solutions;
- Annual accounts & audit: End responsibility for statutory accounts, external audit, and compliance;
- Stakeholder management: Maintain relationships with private equity, Supervisory Board, banks, and external advisors; monitor covenants;
- Legal: Act as first point of contact for legal matters and coordinate with external legal advisors.
Team
The finance team currently consists of two ambitious finance professionals responsible for day-to-day financial operations. The Finance Manager coaches their development, builds a strong and structured team, and defines the future finance organization.
There is scope to expand the team as the business grows, with a clear focus on automation and smart use of technology before adding headcount. Shaping the future finance function is a key element of this role.
Profile
The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to bring structure to a fast-growing, PE-backed organization. He or she is comfortable operating in a dynamic environment and seamlessly switches between detail and strategic oversight.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has 7–12 years of experience in financial controlling, group reporting, and consolidation;
- Has carried end responsibility for statutory accounts and external audits;
- Has strong affinity with data, systems, and automation (ERP, BI, project/time registration);
- Has experience with or exposure to buy-&-build strategies and post-merger integration;
- Feels at home in a consultancy or professional services environment;
- Actively experiments with AI applications within the finance domain;
- Is fluent in English and Dutch (professional level);
- Is pragmatic, non-corporate, and thrives in an entrepreneurial setting.
RA/RC certification is a plus but not required.
