Finance Manager

About the Company

The company is a fast-growing digital services platform operating in performance marketing, with multiple offices across the Netherlands and Belgium. With a team of 150+ young and driven specialists, the organization combines data, creativity, and technology to deliver measurable impact for its clients.

Alongside strong organic growth, the company is pursuing an active buy-&-build strategy, supported by a hands-on private equity partner. Recent acquisitions underline the ambition to scale further, both domestically and internationally. Internal processes and governance are professionalizing rapidly to support this growth.

The culture is performance-driven, entrepreneurial, and transparent, with short decision lines and a strong emphasis on ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Role and Responsibilities

The Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in the next phase of growth and is fully responsible for the finance function. The role combines strategic responsibility with a distinctly hands-on approach.

As a member of the Management Team, the Finance Manager reports to the CEO and acts as a key sparring partner to the private equity shareholder, Supervisory Board, and banking partners. The core objective is to build a data-driven, scalable, and predictable finance organization that actively enables growth.

The position offers a clear growth path toward a CFO / Executive Board role as the company continues to scale organically and through acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Finance leadership & MT role: Full responsibility for finance and active contribution to strategic decision-making;
  • Monthly close & reporting: Ensure a tight, predictable monthly close and high-quality management and shareholder reporting;
  • KPIs & performance: Analyze financial and operational KPIs and translate insights into actionable steering information;
  • Cash & liquidity: Own free cash flow reporting and liquidity forecasting (“cash is king”);
  • Budget & forecast: Prepare annual budgets and maintain rolling forecasts that truly support decision-making;
  • Buy-&-build & integration: Lead financial integration, consolidation, and reporting of newly acquired entities;
  • Processes & automation: Identify and implement automation and process improvements within finance, including data and AI-driven solutions;
  • Annual accounts & audit: End responsibility for statutory accounts, external audit, and compliance;
  • Stakeholder management: Maintain relationships with private equity, Supervisory Board, banks, and external advisors; monitor covenants;
  • Legal: Act as first point of contact for legal matters and coordinate with external legal advisors.
Team

The finance team currently consists of two ambitious finance professionals responsible for day-to-day financial operations. The Finance Manager coaches their development, builds a strong and structured team, and defines the future finance organization.

There is scope to expand the team as the business grows, with a clear focus on automation and smart use of technology before adding headcount. Shaping the future finance function is a key element of this role.

Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to bring structure to a fast-growing, PE-backed organization. He or she is comfortable operating in a dynamic environment and seamlessly switches between detail and strategic oversight.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has 7–12 years of experience in financial controlling, group reporting, and consolidation;
  • Has carried end responsibility for statutory accounts and external audits;
  • Has strong affinity with data, systems, and automation (ERP, BI, project/time registration);
  • Has experience with or exposure to buy-&-build strategies and post-merger integration;
  • Feels at home in a consultancy or professional services environment;
  • Actively experiments with AI applications within the finance domain;
  • Is fluent in English and Dutch (professional level);
  • Is pragmatic, non-corporate, and thrives in an entrepreneurial setting.

RA/RC certification is a plus but not required.

Core Competencies
  • Results-driven & analytical: High standards and delivery under pressure;
  • Entrepreneurial & innovative: Continuously improving reporting, insights, and processes;
  • Ownership: Full accountability for outcomes and execution;
  • Open & sharp: Transparent communication and proactive risk management;
  • Team-oriented leadership: Building trust, developing people, and celebrating success.
Practical Information
  • Work model: Hybrid (2–3 days in the office)
  • Contract: Full-time (40 hours)
  • Travel: Occasional (acquisitions / portfolio locations)
  • Compensation: Market-competitive package; opportunity for management participation after mutual trust is established
